Return parameter dialog box

Return parameters

Return parameters are information sent back after an operation has been carried out.  Return parameters can be entered from the explorer.

The "Return parameter" dialog box contains four tabs - "Properties", "Notes", "Tagged values" and "Stereotypes".  For information on these standard dialog box tabs, please see "Standard dialog box tabs".

The "Properties" tab of the "Return parameter" dialog box

The "Properties" tab of the "Return parameter" dialog box is used to define values for a return parameter.

Key:

·         "Multiplicity min" and "Multiplicity max": These are the minimum and maximum multiplicity of the return parameter.  If the value is anything other than 1, the return parameter is a set with the indicated size (* if unlimited, constant, or integer).

·         "Type constraint": This is the constraint on the parameter's type (for example, the size of the character string)

·         "Class": This defines the class to which the parameter belongs.
