Getting started

Prerequisites

Before Objecteering MDA Modeler can be used, the following operations must be carried out:

· A working project must be created (Figure 60).

· The MDAModeler MDAC must be deployed in your project (Figure 61).

Creating a project

To create the working project inside which we are going to create our new diagram template, carry out the steps shown in Figure 60 below.

Steps:

1. After starting Objecteering UML Modeler, click on the “File/New” menu. The “Create a project” window will then open.

2. In the “Model root name” field, enter “Diagram template project”.

3. In the “Project type to be used” field, select "Default".

4. In the “Path” field, enter the path of the directory where the new project is to be created. Alternatively, click on the  icon to open a file browser through which you can select where your new project is to be located.

5. Confirm by clicking on the “Create the project” button.

Deploying MDA Modeler in your project

To deploy MDA Modeler in your project, simply carry out the steps shown in Figure 61 below.

Steps:

1. Click on “Tools/Deploy an MDAC” in the menu bar. The “Open” window then appears.

2. In the “Open” window, select the MDAModeler MDAC to deploy in your project.

1. Click on “Open” to run deployment.

A message in the output window confirms that the deployment operation has been successfully completed, and a number of elements are added in the explorer.
