The model explorer and the index
When generating metrics, you can choose whether or not to generate and display an HTML model explorer and an index, which will appear on the left-hand side of the window used to display your results.
The model explorer displays your model hierarchy in hypertext link form. The index contains all the calculated elements, and is organized according to element type and in alphabetical order within each group.
If both the index and the model explorer have been generated, you can switch from one to the other simply by clicking on the corresponding "Index" or "Model" hypertext links on the top left of your document.
You can display the results of metrics generation on a particular element simply by clicking on the corresponding element in the model explorer or the index. If you click on the "Home" hypertext link, the results of metrics generation on the model root are shown.
To activate model explorer generation or index, you should simply check the "Model generation" tickbox or the "Index generation" in the "HTML options" parameter set.
Note: For more information on Metrics parameters, please see "Customizing metrics generation".
Figure 8 shows an example of the generated model explorer. As you can see, the "Machines" package has been selected in the model explorer and the results of metrics generation for this package are displayed in the main part of the window.

Figure 9 provides an example of the generated index, as well as the results of the metrics generated on the "MainApplication" package.
