Configuring Objecteering Modeler

Objecteering Modeler parameters

Objecteering Modeler parameters are divided into five parameter sets:

·         the "Interface" parameter set, used to configure general ergonomic options

·         the "Diagrams" parameter set, used to configure diagram options

·         the "Directories" parameter set, used to configure the directories used during file generation (documentation, C++, Java, C#, ...)

·         the "Formalism" parameter set, used to configure general formalism options

·         the "UML profiles" parameter set, used to define the profiles containing the J rules used to customize the behavior of the Objecteering graphic interface

The "Interface" parameter set

Parameter

Use

File which receives console saves

Modifies the name or path of the file which contains the history of all information saved from the console.

Width of the notes dialog box (in characters)

Specifies the width in number of characters of the dialog box which allows the entry of notes.

Note: the actual number can vary slightly according to the platform

Height of the notes dialog box (in lines)

Specifies the height in lines of the dialog box which allows the entry of notes.

Enumeration/list limit

Fixes the limit from which a choice passes from radio button enumeration form to list form in the entry dialog boxes.

Wrapping mode in the notes dialog box

Defines the wrapping mode : none, on the character or on the word.

Ask for confirmation before deleting elements in a diagram

Displays a confirmation dialog box, which asks you to confirm that you really wish to delete the diagram element in question.

Note:      The  "Browse" icon is used to open a file browser, making it easier for you to specify directory and/or file names and path.

The "Diagrams" parameter set

Parameter

Use

X Spacing

Chooses the spacing of the vertical background grid lines.

Y Spacing

Chooses the spacing of the horizontal background grid lines.

Grid active

Activates the grid.

Grid visible

Makes the grid visible.

View names prefix

Gives a prefix to the naming of diagrams.

View names suffix

Gives a suffix to the naming of diagrams.

Dissociate the creation and edition of a diagram

Dissociates the creation from the opening of the diagram.

Automatically unmask constraints on a showlink

Specifies whether or not constraints should be automatically unmasked on a showlink operation.

Automatically unmask notes on a showlink

Specifies whether or not notes should be automatically unmasked on a showlink operation.

The "Directories" parameter set

UML Modeler "Directories" parameters

Parameter

Use

Root directory for generation (GenRoot)

Gives the path of the root directory in which the generation of MDACs will happen. This path is memorized in the GenRoot variable, which is used to construct different sub-directories for the different types of generation, for example $(GenRoot) for the generation of C++ files.

Trash

Provides the path of the directory where deleted files will be put.

Note:      The  "Browse" icon is used to open a file browser, making it easier for you to specify directory and/or file names and path.

The "Formalism" parameter set

UML Modeler "Formalism" parameters

Parameter

Use

Complete name on signals

Uses long names (flow name and associated class name) instead of short names (only the flow name) of the object flows or events on the graphic views.

Display tagged values

Displays tagged values when a new diagram is created.

The "UML profiles" parameter set

Parameter

Use

Profile used by the UML Modeler interface

Contains the rule for calculating diagram names by default.
