Scope editors

 

Introduction

For each type of Scope structuring element, Objecteering Scope Manager provides a dedicated Scope editor.  These editors provide quick and easy access to the elements contained within a structuring element, as well as direct access to the creation command.

 

Note:      Scope editors can only be created on structuring elements.

 

 

Opening a Scope editor

To open a new Scope editor, simply right-click on a Scope structuring element in the explorer to open its context menu, and then run the "Scope Manager/Open a Scope editor".  A new Scope editor is immediately opened.

 

 

Browsing Scope elements in a Scope editor

To browse the Scope elements presented in an editor, the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT keys are used.

 

 

Deleting a Scope element in a Scope editor

To delete an element from a Scope editor, simply click on the line you wish to delete and then press the "Delete" key. The Scope element is immediately deleted.

 

 

Selecting an element simultaneously in a Scope editor and the explorer

To select an element simultaneously in a Scope editor and in the explorer, you have two choices:

·         either click on the element in question in the Scope editor and then click on the  "Select in explorer" icon on the bottom right.  The explorer then immediately jumps to the parent structuring element which contains the selected Scope element.

·         or hold down the Ctrl key and click on the element in the Scope editor.  The explorer then immediately jumps to the same element in the explorer.

 

 

Expanding or shrinking a Scope editor

The contents of the Scope editor can either be expanded or shrunk, in other words, shown in their entirety or shown in a summarized form.

 

To show the complete contents of all the lines (in other words, all the Scope elements) in a Scope editor, simply click on the  "Expand/Shrink all rows in editor" icon, or press the "*" key on your keyboard.

 

To show the complete contents of a particular line, click on the line in question and press the "+" key on your keyboard.

 

To shrink all the lines (in other words, all the Scope elements) in the Scope editor, simply click on the  "Expand/Shrink all rows in editor" icon, or press the "Shift" and "/" keys on your keyboard.

 

To shrink the contents of a particular line, click on the line in question and press the "-" key on your keyboard.

 

Note:      Clicking on the  and  arrows on the left-hand side of a line in a Scope editor can also be used to expand or shrink lines.

 

 

Locking or unlocking a Scope editor

It is possible to lock the current selection in the Scope editor simply by clicking on the element in question and then clicking on the  "Lock/Unlock the editor" icon on the bottom right-hand side of the editor.

 

To free this selection, simply click on the  icon.
