Overview of Objecteering Scope Manager
Introduction
Welcome to the Objecteering Scope Manager User Guide!
The preliminary phase of any project is extremely important. During this phase, a high level solution providing support of requirement analysis, dictionary definition, goal analysis and business rule definition is vital. From these elements, the different stages of the project can subsequently be precisely defined and planned (workload, timing and risk management).
Objecteering Scope Manager is a sophisticated preliminary phase tool, consisting of the following components:
· Objecteering Scope Manager, used to manage requirements, dictionaries, goals and business rules
· Objecteering Scope Admin, used to manage the properties and property sets of Scope elements
· Objecteering Scope DOORS, used to exchange projects between Objecteering and DOORS using the import and export features
Objecteering Scope Manager provides editors dedicated to entering and managing requirements, goals, business rules and terms. In these editors, you can enter textual definitions for each element, and associate specific characteristics, called properties.
Requirements, goals, business rules and terms, which are respectively structured within requirement containers, goal containers, business rule containers and dictionaries, can be browsed in the specific associated tabs in the Objecteering explorer.
A certain number of property sets are provided as standard. These property sets can be extended to meet the needs of any system through the property administration functions of Objecteering Scope Admin.
UML model elements can be directly created from requirements or terms, thereby automatically creating a traceability link between the elements. All traceability links can be graphically consulted, modified and browsed in the fast link editor.
