Defining property sets and properties

 

Creating a new property set

To create a new property set, follow the steps shown in the screenshot below.

Steps:

1.      In the  tab of the explorer, select the property set inside which you want to create your new property set.

2.      Click on the  "Create a property set" icon.

3.      Enter a name for your new property set.

 

 

Modifying a property set

To modify a property set, either double-click on it or right-click and run the "Modify" command.  The window shown below then appears.

It is possible to modify both standard property sets, which are delivered with Objecteering Scope Admin, and property sets you have created yourself.

 

 

Creating a new property

Let's imagine you want to create a new property in the "Financial" property set.  To create this new property, follow the steps shown in the screenshot below.

Steps:

1.      Click on the property set inside which you want to create a new property, in our example, the "Financial" property set.

2.      Click on the  "Create a property" icon.  The "Property edition" window then appears.

3.      In this window, in the name field, enter a name for the new property (in our example, "Initial cost").

4.      In the "Type" field, select a type from the combobox, and where necessary, a default value.

5.      In the "Description" field, enter a description for your new property.

6.      Click on "Create" to confirm.

 

Note:      If none of the types available in the "Type" combobox correspond to your needs, you can create new property types along with their default values.  For more information, please see "Working with property types".
